Description

Upgrades from {{<release "2.20.6.x">}} to some {{<release "2024.1">}} series releases (specifically, to {{<release "2024.1.0.0">}}, {{<release "2024.1.1.0">}}, or {{<release "2024.1.2.0">}}) will fail with an error similar to the following:

Caused by: com.yugabyte.yw.common.PlatformServiceException: cdcsdk_enable_cleanup_of_expired_table_entries is not present in the requested db version 2024.1.2.0-b77

This happens because the configuration flag cdcsdk_enable_cleanup_of_expired_table_entries is missing in {{<release "2024.1.0.0">}}, {{<release "2024.1.1.0">}}, and {{<release "2024.1.2.0">}}.

Mitigation

To successfully upgrade from {{<release "2.20.6.x">}} to {{<release "2024.1">}} series, upgrade directly to {{<release "2024.1.3.0">}}, or later.
