Trademark Policy

World Monitor's source code is licensed under AGPL-3.0-only. That code license does not grant rights to use the World Monitor name, logo, visual identity, or official project branding.

This page is a plain-language branding policy. It is not legal advice.

Allowed uses

You may use the World Monitor name for truthful, factual references such as:

• saying your project is a fork of World Monitor
• linking back to the original World Monitor repository
• describing compatibility with World Monitor
• preserving copyright, attribution, and license notices required by AGPL-3.0-only

Do not remove notices that identify the original project or its license.

Uses that need permission

Ask for separate permission before you:

• use the World Monitor name or logo as the primary branding for your own product or service
• white-label World Monitor or a modified version as if it were your own official product
• imply endorsement, partnership, certification, or official affiliation
• register confusingly similar domain names, account names, product names, or marks
• use World Monitor branding in paid advertising, sponsorships, or commercial packaging

These branding rules are separate from the AGPL code license. Commercial use of the code is permitted under AGPL-3.0-only when you comply with the AGPL terms, but the AGPL does not grant trademark or branding rights.

Forks and modified deployments

Forks and modified deployments should make their relationship to the original project clear. Use distinct product branding and include factual attribution such as "Based on World Monitor" with a link to the original repository.

Do not present a modified deployment as the official World Monitor service unless you have written permission.

Commercial licensing

Commercial licensing is an alternative option for teams that need private-source terms, custom contractual terms, or separate branding permissions. Contact the maintainer through the GitHub repository to discuss licensing or trademark permission.
