The Financial Stress panel (internal id fsi) surfaces two parallel stress composites — one for the US, one for the EU — in a single reading so analysts can see when financial-market stress is co-moving across the two anchors.
Two side-by-side readings:
Each reading includes:
Low Stress / Moderate Stress / Elevated Stress / High Stress).#27ae60) at Low, orange (#f39c12) at Moderate, burnt orange (#e67e22) at Elevated, and deep red (#c0392b) at High (fsiLabelColor() in src/components/FSIPanel.ts).fsiInterpretation()).Panel id is fsi; canonical component is src/components/FSIPanel.ts. Title from i18n; config name: "Financial Stress".
enabled: false, priority: 2) and enabled by default in the finance variant (priority: 1). Not present in the tech, commodity, or happy variants. Source: 'fsi' entries in FULL_PANELS (:108-ish) and FINANCE_PANELS of src/config/panels.ts.The panel uses generated RPC clients directly and prefers bootstrap-hydrated values before fresh calls.
| Reading | Method + route | Feeds |
|---|---|---|
| US KCFSI | GET /api/market/v1/get-fear-greed-index | KCFSI value and market-stress inputs from the Fear & Greed payload; bootstrap-first via fearGreedIndex. |
| EU FSI | GET /api/economic/v1/get-eu-fsi | ECB CISS SS_CIN latest value and history; bootstrap-first via euFsi. |
Upstream KCFSI data is from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City; EU FSI is
from the ECB CISS SS_CIN daily series, the live successor to the legacy
SS_CI series.
EU FSI label buckets follow the seeded CISS value directly:
ECB CISS SS_CIN value | Label |
|---|---|
< 0.2 | Low Stress |
>= 0.2 and < 0.4 | Moderate Stress |
>= 0.4 and < 0.6 | Elevated Stress |
>= 0.6 | High Stress |
Weekly for KCFSI (published by KC Fed). EU FSI is seeded daily from the ECB
CISS SS_CIN daily series. The panel reads the hydrated snapshot on mount; no
polling.
Free. No premium flag in either variant registration. Both backing RPCs are public.
