agentOS is a faster, lighter, cheaper alternative to sandboxes powered by WebAssembly. Run any coding agent inside an isolated Linux VM, with agent orchestration built in: multiplayer, workflows, and agent-to-agent all included.

Today we're releasing agentOS v0.2.

What's New

  • Faster, lighter, cheaper than a sandbox: now rewritten in Rust, with 516x faster cold starts, 8x less memory, and 1738x cheaper to run.
  • Run any agent or BYO agent: added Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode on top of existing PI support.
  • Multiplayer & workflows: realtime sessions, durable workflows, and agent-to-agent calls.
  • Improved file system & limits: mount S3, databases, or host directories, with tighter per-agent CPU, memory, and network caps.
  • 1-prompt deploy to Rivet Cloud: ship to Rivet Cloud, fully managed, or self-host anywhere.
  • New package names: the core package moved to @rivet-dev/agentos, and software packages moved to @agentos-software/*.
