Todo 4 Category Resolution - Review5 Goal And Constraint Gate

recommendation: APPROVE verdict: PASS confidence: HIGH worktree: /Users/yeongyu/local-workspaces/omo-wt/senpi-task-w0-category branch: code-yeongyu/senpi-task-w0-category base: 27fc9ca95abfa266e0b2e0e3efa44b56ec8b9ab4 head reviewed: b4583e46c07d34b9a699d5896803a1d48c74b351 report path: /Users/yeongyu/local-workspaces/omo-wt/senpi-task-w0-category/.omo/evidence/senpi-task/task-4-category/review5/goal.md

originalIntent

Todo 4 asks for senpi-task category resolution for future Senpi task delegation. The resolver must live in packages/senpi-task, port the eight OpenCode delegate-task builtin category defaults, overlay omoConfig.categories, use @oh-my-opencode/delegate-core for model-selection order, map the selected provider/model through a Senpi-style ModelRegistry.find(provider, id), and return typed results for resolved, disabled, unknown, and unavailable categories.

It must carry category execution parameters into the child spec, avoid category XOR agent logic, avoid runtime imports from packages/omo-opencode / @oh-my-opencode/omo-opencode, and keep every touched source/test/script file at or under 250 pure LOC.

desiredOutcome

From a user-visible package API perspective, resolveCategory(name, omoConfig, senpiModelRegistry, options) should:

  • Resolve builtin and user-defined categories with user overlay precedence.
  • Return disabled for disable: true, not_found for unknown categories, and model_unavailable for unresolvable or malformed model registry data.
  • Select models through resolveModelForDelegateTask, including hardcoded fallback chains and systemDefaultModel, without reimplementing the seven-step order locally.
  • Return a valid ResolvedChildSpec only when the selected model is found through find(provider, id).
  • Sanitize malformed registry data, secret-like own fields, inherited identity fields, non-array availability, and accessor-backed model objects without throwing or leaking fixture markers.

userOutcomeReview

PASS. At current HEAD, the product diff satisfies the Todo 4 goal and closes the known prior failures. resolveCategory merges builtin categories with omoConfig.categories, honors overlay wins, returns typed disabled/not_found/model_unavailable outcomes, delegates model order to resolveModelForDelegateTask, maps selected models through senpiModelRegistry.find(provider, modelId), and carries the requested params: temperature, top_p, maxTokens, thinking, reasoningEffort, tools, and prompt_append.

The current code also rejects hostile or malformed registry objects: non-array getAvailable() returns model_unavailable; malformed truthy find() values do not produce a resolved spec; legal headers metadata is accepted; own secret-like fields reject without leaking fixture values; inherited provider/id rejects; throwing own accessors for provider/id in both availability and find results are sanitized without throwing.

blockers

None.

requirementChecklist

  • Eight builtin defaults: PASS. Direct parity probe against packages/omo-opencode/src/tools/delegate-task/{google,openai,anthropic,kimi}-categories.ts passed for all 8 defaults.
  • Omo overlay wins: PASS. Source uses { ...builtinConfig, ...userConfig }; tests cover user model/variant/prompt append and custom category description.
  • Disabled category: PASS. disable: true returns kind: "disabled" with reason and available category names.
  • Unknown category: PASS. Missing builtin/user category returns kind: "not_found".
  • Delegate-core model order: PASS. resolver.ts imports/calls resolveModelForDelegateTask and passes userModel, userFallbackModels, categoryDefaultModel, fallbackChain, availableModels, and systemDefaultModel.
  • No local seven-step implementation: PASS. Static scan found only the delegate-core call surface, not local order prose or custom model-order code.
  • Registry mapping semantics: PASS. Selected provider/model is parsed and resolved via senpiModelRegistry.find(provider, modelId).
  • Unresolvable model: PASS. Returns kind: "model_unavailable" with attempted model, available models, and fallback info when applicable, without a spec.
  • Parameter carry-through: PASS. Tests cover temperature, top_p, maxTokens, thinking, reasoningEffort, tools, and appended prompt text.
  • No Senpi-specific hardcoding beyond allowed data: PASS. Builtin defaults are ported; fallback chain data is the required hardcoded chain and matches model-core by direct parity probe.
  • No category XOR agent logic: PASS. Static scan found no subagent_type, agent_type, or XOR logic in Todo 4 scope.
  • No runtime OpenCode import: PASS. Matches are provenance comments only.
  • Package AGENTS respected: PASS. senpi-task imports adapter-facing core packages and does not import omo-opencode runtime.
  • LOC ceiling: PASS. All scoped .ts source/test/script files are <=250 pure LOC; resolver.ts is exactly 250, so future behavior edits must split before adding lines.

knownPriorFailures

  • Malformed truthy find(): CLOSED by tests/manual QA returning sanitized model_unavailable.
  • Non-array getAvailable(): CLOSED by tests/manual QA returning model_unavailable with empty availableModels.
  • Legal Senpi headers: CLOSED; header-bearing model resolves and preserves the model object.
  • Own secret-like fields: CLOSED for password, accessToken, privateToken, and the resolver deny-list; result JSON does not leak fixture marker values.
  • Inherited provider/id: CLOSED; own data descriptors are required.
  • Throwing own accessors: CLOSED by repair5; descriptor parsing avoids invoking provider/id getters.
  • LOC ceiling after repair: CLOSED; split tests are below 250 pure LOC and resolver is exactly 250.

removeAiSlopsAndProgrammingPass

I loaded and applied programming, TypeScript programming reference, remove-ai-slops, code-smells, and code-review criteria before approving.

Direct overfit/slop review result: PASS. The tests are behavior-oriented rather than deletion-only or tautological: they assert observable category outcomes, fallback behavior, boundary sanitization, and parameter carry-through. The snapshot is large, but it is justified by the explicit acceptance criterion to pin all eight ported defaults; it is not the only correctness signal. I found no unnecessary production extraction, no implementation-mirroring replacement for delegate-core order, no TypeScript escape hatches, no oversized scoped source/test/script file, no broad catch/slop guard, and no scope drift into category XOR agent logic.

The existing review4-code-quality.md contains an explicit skill-perspective section, but it targets pre-repair5 HEAD. I therefore treated it as historical context only and repeated the skill/slop pass directly against current HEAD in this report.

exactEvidenceGaps

No blocking evidence gaps for Todo 4 goal/constraint completion.

Non-blocking artifact hygiene notes:

  • Existing review5/qa/06-check-no-excuse-rules.exit is 1 because it used a stale script path; review5/qa/11-check-no-excuse-rules-corrected-path.exit is 0, and my direct rerun of the corrected command also passed.
  • Existing review5/qa/15-zero-byte-check.exit and 19-zero-byte-check-final.stdout record empty sidecar/status files in the QA directory. Those empty files do not contradict any Todo 4 product claim: the relevant command exits/logs exist, and I reran the gates directly. If a separate QA-lane policy requires zero-byte-free evidence, that lane should normalize empty stderr/status captures, but it is not a blocker for this goal/constraint lane.
  • No notepad path was provided in this assignment; none was checked.

residualRisk

  • resolver.ts is exactly at the 250 pure-LOC ceiling. Any future resolver behavior change should split first.
  • CATEGORY_FALLBACK_CHAINS is a local mirror of model-core fallback requirements. It matches today, but a future task should add a drift guard or dependency cleanup if this surface evolves.
  • ResolvedChildSpec.model intentionally preserves the raw valid registry model object. The current parser rejects known top-level secret-like own fields while allowing legal metadata such as headers; future Senpi metadata changes should keep that boundary evidence-backed.
