Code Quality Review: PR #5745

Verdict

  • codeQualityStatus: CLEAR
  • recommendation: APPROVE
  • confidence: HIGH
  • blockers: none

Scope Reviewed

  • Worktree: /Users/yeongyu/local-workspaces/omo-wt/code-yeongyu-remove-codex-workflow-selector
  • Branch: code-yeongyu/remove-codex-workflow-selector
  • Commit: 00eea45130acbdafb967e84c78d1f777389d287d
  • Diff: git diff HEAD~1..HEAD

Skill Perspective Check

  • omo:remove-ai-slops: loaded and applied to production/test diff. No needless production extraction/parsing/normalization was introduced. The deleted workflow-selector tests were removed with their deleted runtime; new assertions are negative package/manifest guardrails plus preserved remaining-hook coverage, not tautological production-code mirroring that creates false confidence.
  • omo:programming: loaded, including TypeScript reference. No new TypeScript production code, untyped escape hatches, validation/parsing layers, or needless abstractions were added. Existing manifest tests remain somewhat count-based, but this pattern was already present and the PR also adds direct absence/preservation assertions.
  • code-review: loaded and applied for severity-rated review.

Findings By Severity

CRITICAL

None.

HIGH

None.

MEDIUM

None.

LOW

None blocking. Note: packages/omo-codex/plugin/test/aggregate-manifest.test.mjs:20 continues to pin the total hook count. This is mildly brittle for future hook additions, but it was an existing test pattern and is paired here with a direct absence assertion for the removed selector hook.

Verification Performed

  • Confirmed clean branch at 00eea4513 with git status --short --branch.
  • Inspected git diff --stat HEAD~1..HEAD, git diff --name-status HEAD~1..HEAD, and the full relevant diff under packages/omo-codex/plugin.
  • Verified current aggregate plugin manifest has 21 hook paths, no missing hook files, and no workflow-selector hook path.
  • Verified packages/omo-codex/plugin/package.json and packages/omo-codex/plugin/package-lock.json no longer contain workflow-selector workspace/package entries.
  • Verified no components/workflow-selector directory or user-prompt-submit-selecting-lazycodex-workflow.json file remains.
  • Verified selector/runtime strings are absent from Codex plugin runtime paths; remaining workflow-selector references are test-only negative assertions.
  • Verified <lazycodex-auto-workflow> appears only in packages/omo-codex/plugin/components/ultrawork/test/codex-hook-trigger-policy.test.ts:121.
  • Ran focused tests:
    • node --test test/aggregate-hooks.test.mjs test/aggregate-manifest.test.mjs test/component-bundled-cli.test.mjs from packages/omo-codex/plugin: 23 pass, 0 fail.
    • bun test ./test/codex-hook-trigger-policy.test.ts from packages/omo-codex/plugin/components/ultrawork: 6 pass, 0 fail.
  • Checked git diff --check HEAD~1..HEAD: no whitespace errors.
  • Inspected evidence summary and artifacts under .omo/evidence/20260629-remove-workflow-selector.
  • Parsed .omo/evidence/20260629-remove-workflow-selector/09-codex-app-server-drive-plugin.json: ok: true, completed turn, no missing/failed hooks, and userPromptSubmit hooks were only project rules, ultrawork, and ulw-loop.

Review Notes

The removal is surgical. It deletes the workflow selector component, aggregate hook manifest, plugin manifest entry, and workspace/package-lock entries while preserving the remaining Codex hook surfaces. The live app-server evidence is relevant because it proves first-party plugin hooks still fire in isolation and the deleted selector no longer participates in UserPromptSubmit.

No CRITICAL or HIGH issues remain.
