Hi, I’m Ahmed Sayed, a Computer Engineering graduate from the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University. My primary interests lie in backend development and systems engineering, particularly in building scalable and efficient infrastructure.

I previously contributed to MariaDB as part of Google Summer of Code 2024, where I worked on implementing the IVF_FLAT vector index strategy to enhance vector search capabilities for AI-driven applications.

Alongside my open-source work, I have a strong foundation in algorithms and problem solving through competitive programming, including qualifying for the ACPC finals. I enjoy tackling complex technical challenges and contributing to projects that have real-world impact.

This year, I’m excited to start contributing to Meshery, learn from the community, and help improve the platform while continuing to grow my expertise in backend systems and cloud-native tooling.
