What Are Starters?

Starters are ready-made store designs that save you time by giving you a professional starting point. Instead of building your store from scratch, you can pick a starter with a design and features that match your vision.

Each starter includes:

Professional Design: Complete store layouts with carefully chosen colors, typography, and spacing.
Sample Products: Pre-loaded products with images to show how your store will look.
Working Features: All essential ecommerce functionality built in, with some custom features depending on the starter.
Industry Styles: Designs tailored for specific store types like fashion, home goods, or lifestyle brands.

Everything in a starter is fully customizable. Change colors, layouts, features, and content simply by chatting with Bloom.

Starters vs. Custom Prompts

Starters provide a foundation for common use cases and store types. They are great if you want to launch quickly with a beautiful design. Starters also save up on credits since you're building on top of an existing design.

Custom prompts are better if you have a very specific vision that doesn't match existing starters or if you want complete creative control from the start.

Browse available starters directly on the Bloom homepage to find one that matches your vision.

View Available Starters

To explore starters:

Visit the Bloom homepage.
Click "Starters" in the top navigation menu.
In the "Discover Starters" section, browse through the starter cards to see different styles.

Each starter card shows a preview image, the starter name, and who created it.

View Starter Details

To view more information about a starter, click on its card from the "Discover Starters" section.

On the details page, you can see more information about the starter, including a full preview of the store design, description of the design and features, and who created it.

Preview Live Starter

To preview a starter, click the "Open live preview" button on the starter's detail page. This opens a live version of the starter in a new tab, where you can explore the design of its pages, available features, and overall experience.

Creating a Project from a Starter

You can create a new store project based on any starter. Bloom builds the store for you with all the design, products, and features included in the starter. Then, you can customize it to make it your own.

To create a project from a starter:

Visit the Bloom homepage and browse the "Discover starters" section.
Click on a starter card to view its details.
Click the "Use starter" button.
If you're not logged in, you'll be prompted to create an account or log in:
- Create an account with GitHub or email if you don't have an account. You'll start on the Free plan with 5 credits per month.
- See Credits and Plans for more details.
Once you're logged in, Bloom starts building your store based on the starter. This takes about 2 minutes.
Once complete, you'll enter the project interface where you can preview and customize your store.

Your new store includes everything from the starter: design, layout, sample products, and features. From here, customize it to match your brand.

Customizing Your Starter

Starters are starting points, not final products. Every aspect is customizable through Bloom's chat interface, similar to starting from a custom prompt. You can change design, features, and content simply by chatting with Bloom.
