TransitionManager.Transitions Property

Provides access to the collection of control state transitions.

Namespace : DevExpress.Utils.Animation

Assembly : DevExpress.Utils.v25.2.dll

NuGet Packages : DevExpress.Utils, DevExpress.Wpf.Core

Declaration

csharp
[DXCategory("Behavior")]
public TransitionCollection Transitions { get; }
vb
<DXCategory("Behavior")>
Public ReadOnly Property Transitions As TransitionCollection

Property Value

TypeDescription
DevExpress.Utils.Animation.TransitionCollection

The collection of control state transitions.

|

Remarks

The Transitions collection stores DevExpress.Utils.Animation.Transition objects which specify state animation parameters. The following image shows Transitions collection editor available at design time. The Transitions collection contains one Transition object which specifies animation parameters for a form:

Each Transition object associates a specific control (the Transition.Control property) with animation parameters. The animation effect is specified by the Transition.TransitionType property. To specify the animation effect in code, create and customize any of the following class objects and assign it to the Transition.TransitionType property.

  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.PushTransition
  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.FadeTransition
  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.DissolveTransition
  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.ShapeTransition
  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.ClockTransition
  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.SlideFadeTransition
  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.CoverTransition
  • DevExpress.Utils.Animation.CombTransition

Animated transitions support easing functions, which accelerate and/or decelerate animation progress. By default, the ExponentialEase function is used. To use another easing function, handle the TransitionManager.CustomTransition event and set the EasingFunction event parameter. See TransitionManager.CustomTransition to learn more.

Demo: Transition Manager module in the ApplicationUI MainDemo

Example

This example contains an XtraTabControl with two tabs. The TransitionManager component is used to animate switching between these tabs, using a certain animation effect (specified by the Transition Type combobox). Animated tab switching is initiated in the XtraTabControl.SelectedPageChanging event handler and is finished in the XtraTabControl.SelectedPageChanged event handler.Before the transition starts, it is created in the SelectedIndexChanged event of the combobox control. By default, the entire area occupied by the control is animated by the TransitionManager. In the example, the CustomTransition event is handled to exclude the tab region from animation.
