There is currently no way to manage milestones from the CLI. While milestones are visible in the web UI and accessible via the API, fj has no milestone subcommand.
Add a fj milestone subcommand with full CRUD support:
fj milestone listList milestones for the current repository:
--state open|closed|all filter (default: open)fj milestone view <name>View details of a specific milestone by title.
fj milestone create <title>Create a new milestone:
--description / -d (opens editor if flag given without value)--due-date / -D (RFC3339 format)fj milestone edit <name>Edit an existing milestone:
--rename / -n — change title--description / -d — change description--due-date / -D — change due date--state / -s — set to open or closedfj milestone delete <name>Delete a milestone by title.
GET/POST/PATCH/DELETE /repos/{owner}/{repo}/milestones) already provide all needed functionality.forgejo_api crate (v0.9.2) exposes these endpoints.fj has no milestone subcommand. ## Proposed solution Add a fj milestone subcommand with full CRUD support: ### fj milestone list List milestones for the current repository: - Title, state (open/closed), progress (open vs closed issues), due date - --state open|closed|all filter (default: open) ### fj milestone view \<name\> View details of a specific milestone by title. ### fj milestone create \<title\> Create a new milestone: - --description / -d (opens editor if flag given without value) - --due-date / -D (RFC3339 format) ### fj milestone edit \<name\> Edit an existing milestone: - --rename / -n — change title - --description / -d — change description - --due-date / -D — change due date - --state / -s — set to open or closed ### fj milestone delete \<name\> Delete a milestone by title. ## Context - Related to #355 which proposes milestone + project support broadly — this issue focuses on the standalone milestone subcommand. - The Forgejo API endpoints (GET/POST/PATCH/DELETE /repos/{owner}/{repo}/milestones) already provide all needed functionality. - The forgejo_api crate (v0.9.2) exposes these endpoints. - Milestone identification is by title (resolved to ID internally via the list endpoint). philkhn changed title from ** Add ** to Add fj milestone list command to view milestones from the CLIfj milestone subcommand (list, view, create, edit, delete) 2026-03-15 02:55:07 +01:00
