Hi,

when using fj --styles minimal to use the output in scripts, there are few things that are a bit inconvenient:

  1. the output in general is not directly usable because the 'bullet-points' need to be stripped as well as the informational output (e.g. "Page 1 of 2"). it would be nicer to have 'naked' output of the information that one is requesting, to do things like..

for repo in $(fj --style minimal org list); do [...]; done

this would be more the traditional 'linux'-way output one would expect from a cli tool.

  1. the output is not 'complete', when there are more than one page, one has to manually page through them and request each page individually. it would be nice if fj could do that for the user and automatically give the entire output of all pages.

  2. when requesting things that don't exist, e.g. fj --style minimal org list --page 999, the return is 'No results' to stdout instead of stderr, and the exit value is 0 instead of 1.

Regards,
Daniel

For a complete list, would an --all flag be a good option?

sounds reasonable to me, yes.

Want to let you know I have not forgotten about this. I'm working on Cyborus/forgejo-api#102 which will make implementing --all much simpler. It includes a unified way to iterate through every page an API endpoint returns, rather than doing it manually for every endpoint individually
