AWS SDK for JavaScript CodeGuruProfiler Client for Node.js, Browser and React Native.
<p> This section provides documentation for the Amazon CodeGuru Profiler API operations. </p> <p> Amazon CodeGuru Profiler collects runtime performance data from your live applications, and provides recommendations that can help you fine-tune your application performance. Using machine learning algorithms, CodeGuru Profiler can help you find your most expensive lines of code and suggest ways you can improve efficiency and remove CPU bottlenecks. </p> <p> Amazon CodeGuru Profiler provides different visualizations of profiling data to help you identify what code is running on the CPU, see how much time is consumed, and suggest ways to reduce CPU utilization. </p> <note> <p>Amazon CodeGuru Profiler currently supports applications written in all Java virtual machine (JVM) languages and Python. While CodeGuru Profiler supports both visualizations and recommendations for applications written in Java, it can also generate visualizations and a subset of recommendations for applications written in other JVM languages and Python.</p> </note> <p> For more information, see <a href="https://docs.aws.amazon.com/codeguru/latest/profiler-ug/what-is-codeguru-profiler.html">What is Amazon CodeGuru Profiler</a> in the <i>Amazon CodeGuru Profiler User Guide</i>. </p>To install this package, use the CLI of your favorite package manager:
npm install @aws-sdk/client-codeguruprofileryarn add @aws-sdk/client-codeguruprofilerpnpm add @aws-sdk/client-codeguruprofilerThe AWS SDK is modulized by clients and commands.
To send a request, you only need to import the CodeGuruProfilerClient and
the commands you need, for example ListProfilingGroupsCommand:
// ES5 example
const { CodeGuruProfilerClient, ListProfilingGroupsCommand } = require("@aws-sdk/client-codeguruprofiler");
// ES6+ example
import { CodeGuruProfilerClient, ListProfilingGroupsCommand } from "@aws-sdk/client-codeguruprofiler";
To send a request:
send operation on the client, providing the command object as input.const client = new CodeGuruProfilerClient({ region: "REGION" });
const params = { /** input parameters */ };
const command = new ListProfilingGroupsCommand(params);
We recommend using the await operator to wait for the promise returned by send operation as follows:
// async/await.
try {
const data = await client.send(command);
// process data.
} catch (error) {
// error handling.
} finally {
// finally.
}
You can also use Promise chaining.
client
.send(command)
.then((data) => {
// process data.
})
.catch((error) => {
// error handling.
})
.finally(() => {
// finally.
});
The aggregated client class is exported from the same package, but without the "Client" suffix.
CodeGuruProfiler extends CodeGuruProfilerClient and additionally supports all operations, waiters, and paginators as methods.
This style may be familiar to you from the AWS SDK for JavaScript v2.
If you are bundling the AWS SDK, we recommend using only the bare-bones client (CodeGuruProfilerClient).
More details are in the blog post on
modular packages in AWS SDK for JavaScript.
import { CodeGuruProfiler } from "@aws-sdk/client-codeguruprofiler";
const client = new CodeGuruProfiler({ region: "REGION" });
// async/await.
try {
const data = await client.listProfilingGroups(params);
// process data.
} catch (error) {
// error handling.
}
// Promises.
client
.listProfilingGroups(params)
.then((data) => {
// process data.
})
.catch((error) => {
// error handling.
});
// callbacks (not recommended).
client.listProfilingGroups(params, (err, data) => {
// process err and data.
});
When the service returns an exception, the error will include the exception information, as well as response metadata (e.g. request id).
try {
const data = await client.send(command);
// process data.
} catch (error) {
const { requestId, cfId, extendedRequestId } = error.$metadata;
console.log({ requestId, cfId, extendedRequestId });
/**
* The keys within exceptions are also parsed.
* You can access them by specifying exception names:
* if (error.name === 'SomeServiceException') {
* const value = error.specialKeyInException;
* }
*/
}
